iTunes Single Of The Week: Orianthi: According To You

For those of you who haven't heard of Orianthi you should know who she is. The Australian born singer/guitar player [Who has played with the likes of Carrie Underwood and the late Michael Jackson] has made her way here to the US in a big way her new single According To You from her new CD titled Believe [Available Now] is the Discovery Download Of The Week on iTunes. It's a very edgy song and her vocals are just simply fantastic on it I tell you this girl can do it all. She has hit the ground running here in a huge way and in my opinion is someone to keep an eye on for a while she is going to be around for a good long time. So go and get the single now it's only free for a limited time and even if you don't get it within that space of time still buy it and support one amazing singer.

iTunes New Music Tuesday Review: Carrie Underwood's Temporary Home

Frewarning: Your going to need tissues for this song if you thought Mama's Song (Last Tuesday) was emotional this one will really get you.

As you will come to see Carrie Underwood is a favorite of mine and today I review her second iTunes release Temporary Home

If your a Carrie Underwood fan then you will know that Carrie has released a few power house ballads in the past few years (Jesus Take The Wheel and So Small to name two) however this song is not only powerful but heart has a powerful message behind it as well.

According to co-writer Luke Laird Carrie had everything mapped out for the song "She had the whole thing mapped out," Laird says. "She had the title, knew basically what she wanted each verse to say. She didn't have anything actually written down, but that made a huge difference. Most songs, even when I'm writing with other writers, we don't have them that mapped out, so we're just filling in the pieces. But she really knew what she wanted to say." The song has three different stories behind it: A little boy in a foster home, a mom and her baby daughter in a halfway house and a man in a dying hospital bed [Re-re the forewarning]

Carrie vocals really shine on this there breathtaking you could say, she has really grown as a vocalist over the past four years and this really proves it. It has to be one of my favorites from this CD so far, it will really touch a lot of people in many ways. So in saying that I ask you to go pick up a copy on iTunes and listen for yourself.

Temporary Home Lyrics

A little boy six years old
a little too used to being alone
another new mom and dad
another school another house that will never be home
when people ask him how he likes this place
he looks up and says with a smile upon his face

this is my temporary home
its not where i belong
windows and rooms
that i'm passing thorugh
this is just a stop
on the way to where im going
i'm not afraid because i know
this is my temporary home

young mom on her own
she needs a little help got nowhere to go
shes looking for a job, looking for a way out
cause the halfway house will never be a home
at night she whispers to her baby girl
someday we'll find a place here in this world

this is our temporary home
its not where we belong
windows and rooms
that we're passing through
this is just a stop
on the way to where we're going
i'm not afraid because i know
this is our temporary home

old man, hospital bed
the room is filled with people he loves
and he whispers dont cry for me
i'll see you all someday
he looks up and says "I can see God's face."
this is my temporary home
its not where i belong
windows and rooms
that i'm passing through
this was just a stop
on the way to where im going
i'm not afraid because i know
this was my temporary home.

this is our temporary home.

New Music Review: Norah Jones - Chasing Pirates

Norah's voice is very unique, she has a different tone to her voice that is very soothing and enjoyable. This single is a departure from that and while it doesn't have that smooth silky sound that her first hit single Come Away With Me it still sounds great and is sure to be a hit with her fans. Go pick it up on iTunes and let me know what you think about it in the comments section below :-D

Norah Jones Chasing Pirates Lyrics
In your message you said, you were goin' to bed, but I'm not done with the night.
So I stayed up and read, but your words in my head, got me mixed up so I turned out the light.

And I, don't know how, to slow it down.
My mind's racing from chasing pirates.

Well the man in there swings while the silliest things, floppin around in my brain.
And I try not to dream but them possible schemes, swim around, wanna drown me in synch.

And I, don't know how, to slow it down.
Oh my mind's racing from chasing pirates. x2

My mind's racin' from chasing pirates. x2

iTunes New Music Tuesday Review: Carrie Underwood's Mama's Song

In addition to my other concert and CD reviews, each Tuesday I'll be posting about a review of a new song that is released to iTunes and today I thought we'd start off with a country tune.

As you will come to learn one of my favorite singer's is Carrie Underwood, who's new CD
Play On hits stores November 3rd. Carrie and her team have decided to do a Countdown To Play On on iTunes meaning that each week until the CD is out a new song will be released and when the CD is finally released you will get a discount and a bonus track. [Her version of Oh Holy Night]

Please purchase this song on iTunes and support Carrie and her music.

My Thoughts
Mama's Song is a beautiful ballad complete with strings section, falsettos that bring you chills and lyrics that would make you tear up. [I know I did.] In this song a daughter is thanking her Mother for the lessons she has been taught and is then telling her that she has to let her go weather it to a man that she has found or to God (College) but that she has to know that no matter what she's going to be taken care of by whoever she is with.

Mama's Song (Carrie Underwood, Luke Laird, Marti Frederiken and Kara Dioguardi)

Mama you taught me to do the right things
So now you have to let your baby fly
You’ve given me everything that I will need
To make it through this crazy thing called life

And I know you watched me grow up
And only want what’s best for me
And I think I found the answer to your prayers

Chorus
And he is good, so good
He treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he’s never gonna leave
So don’t you worry about me
Don’t you worry about me

Mama there’s no way you’ll ever lose me
And giving me away is not goodbye
As you watch me walk down to my future
I hope tears of joy are in your eyes

Chorus
Cause he is good, so good
And he treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he’s never gonna leave
So don’t you worry about me
Don’t you worry about me

And when I watch my baby grow up
I’ll only want what’s best for her
And I hope she’ll find the answer to my prayers
And that she’ll say

Chorus
He is good, so good
And he treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he’s never gonna leave
So don’t you worry about me
Don’t you worry about me
Mama don’t you worry about me
Don’t you worry about me

Green River Ordinance and Kate Voegle at The Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA 10-10-09

So I thought I would start things off with a very recent concert review.

I have to say I like seeing as many concerts as I can per year, and to see different artists in different environments. I was lucky to be able to see Green River Ordinance [Or GRO as there loyal fans call them] back in July with David Cook and when I heard they were going to be in Lancaster, PA I knew I had to see them. I had a very brief idea of who Kate Voegle was as well bit after looking her up I had a feeling I was going to like her to. Before and after the show I managed to meet 4 out of 5 guys from GRO and the three guys who performed before them

Green River Ordinance never disappoints me and even though there lead singer Josh was sick he still sounded perfect. They were chatty and the crowd seemed to enjoy them as well.

Green River Ordinance's Set List:
Don't Give Up
Out Of My Hands
Getting Older (Dedicated it to 4 people who had birthdays)
On Your Own
*Cannot Read The Handwriting On The Set List*
Good Bye LA
Come On

Next up was Kate and boy does she have energy she was all around the small stage that the venue had to offer, and really loved the crowd (Even posting on her Twitter page that the Front row at the show made her week) her live vocals are good however she was at times drowned out by her band but when she came to acoustic song her vocals really shined through. She as well was very chatty and enjoyed the company of the smaller crowd.

Kate's Set List
